The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested in Lleida a 28-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery at a gas station on Miguel Hernández street. The assault occurred on March 8 around 10:00 a.m., when the suspect allegedly entered the establishment, threatened the attendant, and then fled in a car.
Closing device with no result at first
After the robbery, the Mossos activated the Cage device to close off possible escape routes and try to locate the perpetrator. The initial search, however, did not yield results and the investigation passed into the hands of the Investigation Unit of the ABP of Segrià.
Subsequent investigations allowed identifying the arrested person as the alleged perpetrator of the events. The investigators also confirmed that the detainee accumulates about thirty previous records. The Mossos consider him a habitual offender with numerous police records.
Detained at a home on Mossèn Salvador street
The arrest took place early this Thursday morning, when agents accessed a home on Mossèn Salvador street in Lleida and arrested the suspect. The investigation remains open to fully clarify the robbery and rule out his possible involvement in other criminal acts.
The detainee will be placed tomorrow at the disposal of the court before the Investigating Court on duty of Lleida.
