The Guardia Urbana of Lleida arrested this Sunday morning a 20-year-old young man accused of a sexual assault offense. The officers acted after receiving a report in the early hours of the day at the police station located on Salmerón street.
A woman appeared at the police station to report that she had been forced by an individual whose identity she provided to the investigators. This information allowed the police to quickly locate the suspect and summon him to voluntarily attend police facilities.
The detainee was arrested immediately based on the complaint filed and the evidence gathered during the initial investigations.
Decrease in cases in Segrià
The statistical context shows a downward trend in this type of offense in the area. 291 crimes against sexual freedom were registered in the regions of Lleida last year, which represents 5.2% less than in 2024 according to the Crime Report of the Ministry of the Interior.
Of that total, 106 cases occurred in the capital of Segrià. This figure represents a decrease of 17.2% compared to the 128 incidents recorded in 2024.

The judicial response has increased its intensity in parallel with investigative activity. The courts of Lleida issued 52 final judgments for sexual offenses last year, the highest figure recorded in the last four years.
In 16 of these proceedings, both the aggressors and the victims were minors. The Provincial Court absorbs a significant part of the workload, with an average of one trial per week.
