La Vall de Boí will once again concentrate at the end of June one of the weekends with the highest sporting attendance in the Lleida Pyrenees. The twelfth edition of the Garmin Mountain Festival Vall de Boí will be held on June 27 and 28, with Barruera as the epicenter and with attendance forecasts that point to exceeding 2,500 people among athletes, companions, and the public attending parallel activities.

The event has not yet sold out bibs, but it is already close to full. The organization has approximately 1,800 registered participants, which is equivalent to 90% occupancy, and expects to reach the limit of 2,000 places in a program that maintains three distances and once again places the region within the international XTERRA Trail Run World Series circuit.

The race will reach 2,000 bibs with Barruera as the center of the festival

The main hub of the event will be in Barruera during the days of June 27 and 28. The start and activity of an edition that, with current registrations, is facing the final stretch of sign-ups close to the limit set by the organization will be concentrated there.

The sporting program will repeat the scheme of previous editions with a 42-kilometer marathon, a 24-kilometer sky race, and a 12-kilometer speed race. The presence in the XTERRA Trail Run World Series gives the festival international projection and broadens the profile of runners who travel to La Vall de Boí.

The forecast of exceeding 2,500 people is not limited to those who will start the race. This calculation also includes companions and attendees of parallel activities, a volume that places the focus of the weekend on both the competition and the movement it generates in the surroundings of Barruera and the entire valley.

La Vall de Boí combines mountain races and a cycling climb this weekend

Before the big event at the end of June, the area is already hosting other mountain-related competitions this weekend. The Caraamon KV, a vertical race counting towards the Catalan Championship, and the Trail Comaminyana will share prominence in a program that strengthens the local sports calendar.

The Trail Comaminyana will offer routes of seven, 15, and 21 kilometers, while both events can be combined with the time trial climb in Boí Taüll. The cycling climb will start from Barruera and reach the base of the ski resort, with a format that adds another discipline to the same competition environment.

The mountain racing calendar in the Lleida Pyrenees will continue after the summer. The Espot and Port Ainé resorts will host the sixteenth edition of the Rialp Matxicots on September 19 and 20.
