Seven people have been injured in a head-on collision on the N II as it passes through Sidamon, in Pla dUrgell, in an accident that has forced the road to be cut and to enable afterwards alternative passage to maintain circulation.
The accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. at kilometer 479. Several patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, ambulances and a SEM helicopter, as well as six units of the Generalitat Firefighters, went to the scene of the accident.
One seriously injured and six more evacuated to Arnau de Vilanova
The seven affected were transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital of Lleida. Among the injured there are six adults and one minor.
One of the adults suffered serious injuries, while three other people had injuries of varying severity. In addition, two other adults and the minor sustained minor injuries.
Road closure after the crash
The frontal collision forced the interruption of traffic on this stretch of the N II during the attention to the victims and the work of the emergency teams. The road was cut and later it opened with alternative passage.
The Mossos d'Esquadra took charge of the management of the accident on the road, while the Firefighters and the SEM worked on the assistance and evacuation of the occupants involved in the crash. The incident caused disruptions on this road axis for entry and exit to Lleida during a good part of the intervention.
