Around 5,000 people visited the 12 museum and cultural facilities that participated in the 18th edition of the Night of the Museums of Lleida, held as part of International Museum Day. The Paeria places the figure at a day with extended access from mid-afternoon to midnight and with a program spread across guided tours, educational proposals, and leisure activities.

The local figure emerged while the celebration extended throughout Catalonia with more than 200 promotional activities between Friday and Monday. In Lleida, the offering was concentrated in a dozen facilities and combined heritage, contemporary art, music, and astronomical observation.

El Morera hosted a live carving and La Panera added an oral performance

One of the events programmed in the capital of Segrià took place at El Morera, where sculptor and video artist Pep Aymerich performed a live artistic action. The artist carved a chestnut chair using traditional techniques within the temporary exhibition Contrapastoral. Art and peasantry linked the live action with the content of the exhibition.

Also at La Panera, visual artist Fito Conesa offered an oral performance action. The night's program also included musical proposals at the Museu de Lleida, CaixaForum, and La Seu Vella.

At La Canadenca, home of the Museu de l'Aigua, the organization included astronomical observation for the August 12th eclipse. The combination of formats allowed the night not to be limited to a conventional visit to the collections.

Balaguer, Tàrrega, and Vielha opened a dozen more spaces for free

Outside the capital, the event also unfolded in other municipalities with free admission and extended hours. Balaguer, Guissona, Cervera, La Seu, Gerri de la Sal, Vielha, Tàrrega, Solsona, Esterri d'Àneu, Isona, and Capdella participated with a dozen cultural spaces.

The program was part of the activities for International Museum Day, which is commemorated on May 18th. Between Friday and Monday, Catalonia gathered more than 200 promotional activities in museums and cultural facilities.

The Night of the Museums of Lleida thus reached its 18th edition with around 5,000 visitors spread across 12 facilities, according to the report provided by the Paeria.
