The traffic on several streets and avenues of Lleida will be altered on Sunday, March 15, between 10:45 and 13:00 hours due to the celebration of the Cursa de la Dona 2026, a popular race that will run through the surroundings of the Segre river and various main roads of the city.
Traffic restrictions and urban route
The Lleida City Council has confirmed that the traffic cuts will affect Camí de Grenyana, the Pardinyes bridge towards the city center, Tortosa avenue in several sections, Corregidor Escofet, Baró de Maials, Roger de Llúria, Comtes d'Urgell and Segre avenue. The Vell bridge will remain closed during the passage of the participants and Madrid avenue will be cut off at the time of the departure.
The organization has detailed that the route will start from the canalization of the Segre river, will pass by the Liceu Escolar footbridge, Madrid avenue, Segre avenue, Roger de Llúria, Comtes d'Urgell, Corregidor Escofet and Tortosa avenue, to cross the Pardinyes bridge and return to the starting point. The itinerary will avoid Príncipe de Viana street due to the recent opening of the new bus station and will detour via Roger de Llúria.
Women's Race 2026 participation and news
The race, organized by GoGoGoRunners Club Esportiu with the collaboration of the City Council, will start at 11:00 a.m. and will have a route of 5.6 kilometers. This year's edition expects to exceed the 2,300 registrations recorded in 2025. The race is open to men and women of all ages, who can complete the route by running or walking.
Among the novelties of 2026, the creation of a children's space in the Cappont play library for boys and girls between 2 and 12 years old stands out. In addition, on Saturday, March 14 at 5:00 p.m., the children's race will be held, with categories from I3 to benjamín and distances ranging between 100 and 600 meters.
Registrations, activities and bib collection
Registration for the Cursa de la Dona Hyundai Lleida has a price of 12 euros. Participation in the children's race costs 5 euros and includes a t-shirt, snack, insurance, and medal. Registrations can be made both on the official website and at in-person points in the city.
The collection of bib numbers will take place on March 12, 13 and 14 at the Museu de l'Automoció Roda Roda. On Sunday, before the main start, a workshop with the Castellers de Lleida and a zumba session will be offered in the area of the Segre river canalization.
Solidarity destination of the collection
The proceeds from the race will be allocated to a new line of research by the Biomarkers in Cancer Research Group of IRB Lleida, in collaboration with the Vilanova University Hospital. The project will focus on the analysis of pleural fluid in breast cancer patients. Part of the funds will also be allocated to the Marta Santamaria Scholarship.
