Los Mossos d'Esquadra have dismantled a network of marijuana and weapons trafficking with operations in the neighborhoods of la Mariola and l'Horta of Lleida and also in Seròs. The operation has resulted in eleven arrests of men and a large seizure of drugs, weapons, cash and ammunition.
The police deployment started at five in the morning with the participation of up to 200 agents. During the operation, seven entries and searches were carried out in homes and warehouses, six of them in the capital of Segrià.
Records in Mariola, l'Horta and Seròs
In the Mariola neighborhood, three arrests were made and a marijuana plantation was seized along with weapons. One of the registered points was a property on Músic Vivaldi street, where investigators located a marijuana plantation in an underground area.
In l'Horta, four arrests were made within the same operation. The action also extended to the municipality of Seròs, within the framework of an investigation focused on an alleged network dedicated to the trafficking of marijuana and weapons.
More than 1,000 plants and seized ammunition
The balance of the operation includes more than 1,000 marijuana plants, in addition to weapons, cash and metallic and semi-metallic ammunition. The investigators also confirmed that the suspects kept the electricity supply fraudulently connected to the public grid.
In the operation, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Division, the BRIMO, the Regional Area of Operational Resources, the Scientific Police, the Canine Unit, Aerial Means, Central Room, and the Citizen Security Unit have intervened.
Judicialized investigation
The operation has been coordinated with the Prosecutor's Office and with court 3 of the investigative section of the Court of First Instance of Lleida. The eleven arrested will be brought before the court between today and tomorrow, while the investigation remains open to specify the scope of the dismantled network.
