The Mossos d'Esquadra criminally charged yesterday a 41-year-old driver after being detected at 193 km/h on the C 14, at kilometer point 68, in the municipality of Verdú, in the Urgell region. In that section, the maximum permitted speed is 80 km/h.

The events occurred this Sunday, when agents of the Ponent Police Region were carrying out a speed control on the C 14. It was 15:30 hours when they located a car that was driving well above the established limit on the road.
After detecting the infraction, the Mossos tracked the vehicle and managed to stop it in Montblanc. Once the driver was identified, a 41-year-old man, a criminal complaint was filed as alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety for driving at a criminally punishable speed.
Criminal complaint for speeding
The action remained in the hands of the Mossos d'Esquadra, who initiated the corresponding proceedings for a crime against road safety. The case is part of the usual speed controls that the police deploy on the road network to detect risky behaviors and remove from circulation drivers who may compromise the safety of other users.
The driver was criminally charged awaiting the judicial processing of the case.
