Lleida's Urban Guard has arrested a 20-year-old man accused of causing a fire this Saturday in La Mitjana park. The fire mainly affected an area of reeds located next to Pearson street.
The alert for the vegetation fire was received at 19.31 hours. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene to act in one of the most frequented natural areas of the city.

The flames concentrated mainly in an area of reeds near Pearson Street, in the vicinity of La Mitjana park. The operation focused on preventing the spread of the fire at this point.
Four crews of the Generalitat Firefighters worked on the ground. Their intervention allowed to stabilize and contain the fire in the affected area.
A 20-year-old young man arrested
Parallel to the extinguishing operation, the Urban Guard arrested a 20-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of the fire. The arrest has been made within the framework of the investigation opened for these events.
The fire was stabilized and contained after the intervention of the firefighters, while the local police maintains the proceedings about what happened at this point of La Mitjana de Lleida.
