Seventeen units of the Generalitat Firefighters are working on extinguishing a fire declared this Wednesday in Llimiana, in an area near the LV 9121 road. The fire originated from a burn that escaped and the alert to the 112 emergency phone was received at 15:08 hours.
The operation has been deployed progressively. Initially, the Firefighters activated nine ground units and two aerial means. With the advance of the flames, the device has been expanded to 14 ground units and three aerial means, with a total of 17 resources mobilized.
Fire in ascending and complicated access
The fire burns uphill next to the LV 9121. During the evolution of the fire, the flames have made a run against the wind and have reached the ridge, which complicates the extinction tasks as it is an area of difficult access.
In the aerial device participate two planes and a helicopter, which support the work of the personnel on the ground in a particularly delicate phase due to the orography of the environment.
Priority on the right flank
The Firefighters have managed to anchor the tail of the fire and are now focusing their efforts on the right flank, which is at this moment the operational priority. The objective of the operation is to stop the progression of the fire in the most compromised perimeter while extinction efforts continue in the Llimiana area.
For now, emergency teams maintain the deployment on the ground and remain attentive to the evolution of the fire at this point in the municipality.
