Twelve museums and cultural facilities in Lleida will open tomorrow between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM with free activities for the 18th edition of the Night of the Museums. The program will bring together municipal, heritage, and private spaces in the same night slot, coinciding with the weekend of International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18.
The local event also takes place in parallel with another broader initiative in the region. While the city concentrates on a simultaneous four-hour opening, the Network of Museums of the Lands of Lleida and Aran is rolling out activities in thirteen spaces from today until Monday and celebrating ten years since its official establishment in 2016 in Balaguer.
The Night of the Museums brings together 12 facilities tomorrow between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM
Participating will be the Lleida Museum, the Morera, the Water Museum at its Canadenca, Molí de Sant Anastasi, and Dipòsit del Pla de l'Aigua sites, the Roda Roda, the Panera, the City Council's Exhibition Hall, Gardeny Castle, La Seu Vella, CaixaForum, the Sorigué Foundation, the Porta Space, and the Graphic Arts hall of the Provincial Council.
During the presentation, Pilar Bosch, the City Council's Councilor for Culture, focused on citizen access to heritage and the planned evening program.

Jesús Navarro, director of the Morera, and Bosch herself defined this year's event as the most participatory. The edition coincides with the weekend of International Museum Day, established in 2005 by the Council of Europe.
The territorial network celebrates 10 years with events from today until Monday in 13 spaces
In parallel to the capital's program, the Network of Museums of the Lands of Lleida and Aran has organized a new edition of International Museum Day in thirteen spaces in the region. The network celebrates ten years since its official establishment in 2016 in Balaguer, with the aim of promoting cooperative work among museum facilities.
Three specific activities outside Lleida city will kick off today. The La Seu d'Urgell Cathedral Museum has scheduled a conference at 7:00 PM, the Solsona Museum will present the pedagogical project Solsonianes at the same time, and the Musèu dera Val d'Aran will also inaugurate an exhibition at 7:00 PM.
During the weekend there will also be open doors at the museums of Balaguer, Cervera, Guissona, Gerri de la Sal, Tàrrega, Capdella, Conca Dellà and Ecomuseu. With this deployment, the celebration is divided between the opening tomorrow night in Lleida and an extended program until Monday in different parts of the demarcation.
The Network of Museums of the Lands of Lleida and Aran was officially constituted in 2016 in Balaguer and now reaches its tenth anniversary.
