Drivers traveling on the N II between Lleida and Alcarràs will have alternative passage starting Monday, March 23 due to the start of paving works on a section of about 1.7 kilometers. The work will be concentrated between the intersection with the Séquia Major de Pinyana and the Camí de Collastret, near the municipal boundary.
The intervention will not imply the total closure of the road. Traffic will remain open and will be regulated with alternative passage when necessary as the works progress, a measure that will allow circulation to be maintained although punctual retentions are not ruled out at this entry and exit point of the capital of Segrià.
Renovation of the pavement and of the signage
The works focus on the renovation of the asphalt pavement, especially in the shoulder area where a trench had been dug to install a new electrical conduit. The right lane in the direction of Lleida will also be paved, as part of an action that includes the repair of the pavement affected by those previous works.
In addition to the resurfacing, the renewal of the horizontal signage is planned in the same section to leave the road in conditions once the intervention ends.
Action linked to an electrical line
The works are carried out by the company Rascón Solar and respond to the conditions included in the license for the construction of an electrical line at this point. The action precisely contemplates the replacement of the pavement that was affected by those previous works.
In a parallel way, action will also be taken on the Camí de Montagut, known equally as Camí de Collestret, where an improvement of the road surface will be carried out.
The forecast is that the works will extend until April 1. Until then, drivers using this stretch of the N II should anticipate possible occasional waits, especially during times of higher traffic intensity.
