Volvo Trucks has started the works for the new facilities of its subsidiary Volvo Truck Center in the Montfullà industrial estate, in Bescanó, next to the AP 7. The new complex will replace the current Salt center and its entry into operation is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The project will be built on a plot of 9,500 square meters and will concentrate the activity of attention and service to industrial vehicles in an enclave with direct access to one of the main road corridors of the Girona regions.
A center prepared for heavy vehicles
The future facilities will include a main building of more than 2,100 square meters, in addition to a workshop of 1,275 square meters and a spare parts warehouse. The design has been conceived to respond to the specific needs of heavy transport and after-sales activity.
The center will have six access lanes for heavy vehicles, maintenance pits, tachograph service, a gantry crane and a parking area. The forecast is that the new equipment will concentrate in Montfullà the operation that until now takes place in Salt.
Calendar and technological bet
The company expects that the new facilities will come into service during the first months of 2027. The complex will also incorporate solar panels and charging points for electric vehicles, in line with an implementation aimed at combining operational capacity and energy provisions for new mobility.
