Two men aged 23 and 29 were arrested at dawn on passeig Marquès de Camps de Salt for their alleged connection with a robbery inside a van. The operation was carried out on April 22 around 02:45 hours, with joint intervention by the Policia Local de Salt and the Mossos d'Esquadra.
The alert came from the Local Police room, which detected the incident through surveillance cameras. The images allowed activating a police device in the area to locate the suspects shortly after the events.
Tools recovered alongside the suspects
The agents verified that the van had the rear window broken and that tools had been stolen from the interior. During the search, the police located a drill and an extension cord near the detainees, some objects that had allegedly just been stolen from the vehicle.
The two men, both with multiple police records, were arrested as alleged perpetrators of the robbery. The recovered objects were subsequently returned to their owner.
Investigation opened for other similar robberies
The investigation remains open to determine if the detainees may be related to other robberies in professional vehicles registered in Salt during recent weeks. Both the Policia Local and the Mossos maintain efforts to clarify if there is a connection between this case and other similar incidents detected in the municipality.
The robbery was discovered thanks to the municipal video surveillance system, which allowed a quick response and the recovery of the stolen material in the same environment where the assault on the vehicle occurred.
