A head-on collision between a bus and a van on the GI 634 road, at the height of Jafre, has left this Wednesday three seriously injured. The three victims were traveling in the van and were evacuated to the Hospital Universitario de Girona Doctor Josep Trueta.
The accident alert reached the Bombers de Catalunya at 17:58 hours. Six units were dispatched to the scene, which worked on attending to the emergency and on the extrication of a person who had been trapped inside the van.
Deployment of emergencies on the GI 634
The Medical Emergencies System activated three ambulances and a medicalized helicopter to assist those affected and organize their hospital transfer. The three injured presented a serious prognosis.
The collision occurred on this stretch of the GI 634, in the municipality of Jafre, where the emergency operation was concentrated during the afternoon. The three injured were transferred to Trueta de Girona, a reference center for this type of patients in the demarcation.
For the moment, the incident resulted in three seriously injured, all occupants of the van, while the intervention teams completed the rescue and roadside assistance tasks.
