The Municipal Police of Girona arrested three people between May 4 and 5 for alleged crimes against public health in different parts of the city. The actions were concentrated mainly in the vicinity of the train and bus station and in Plaça d'Espanya.
The sequence occurred in less than 27 hours and in very busy transit areas of Girona, with two of the three arrests linked to interventions by the canine unit and with money in fractional currency seized along with the drug.
The canine unit intervened twice next to the station and in Plaça d'Espanya
The first arrest took place on Monday, May 4 at 12:55 PM at the Tren d'Olot roundabout. Plainclothes officers arrested a 42-year-old man after observing suspicious behavior.
Hours later, at 8:30 PM, the Municipal Police acted within the FRE Plan with the collaboration of the Mossos d'Esquadra in the vicinity of the train and bus station. There, the canine unit flagged a 45-year-old man.
In that search, agents located 82 grams of hashish and 760 euros in mixed currency. The operation was part of a surveillance operation in one of the busiest areas of the city.
The third arrest arrived the next day with 31 grams of hashish
Already on Tuesday, May 5 at 3:45 PM, the canine unit intervened again during surveillance tasks in Plaça d'Espanya. The officers arrested a 29-year-old young man there.
During that performance, the police found 31 grams of hashish and 300 euros in small denominations on him. With that arrest, the Municipal Police closed three arrests in two days for alleged crimes against public health in Girona.
The last intervention occurred on Tuesday, May 5 at 3:45 PM in Plaça d'Espanya, where agents located 31 grams of hashish and 300 euros in small denominations on a 29-year-old detainee.
