A transport control carried out on March 4 on the AP-7, at the height of La Jonquera, ended with the denunciation to the company responsible for a truck driver after detecting 59 administrative infractions related to transport regulations.
Control on the AP-7 and detection of irregularities
The intervention took place at kilometer point 7 of the highway, in the direction of Barcelona, where agents of the Girona Regional Traffic Area stopped a truck around ten in the morning. During the inspection, the Mossos d"Esquadra verified that the vehicle's tachograph was not approved to record driving and rest times.
Upon analyzing the driver's card data, the officers verified that that same day the truck driver had driven more than 13 hours without taking the mandatory rest. The review of previous days allowed detecting a total of 59 administrative infractions.
Sanctions and consequences for the company
The total of the imposed sanctions amounts to 47,011 euros. According to the Mossos d"Esquadra, most of the infractions were linked to the non-compliance with driving and rest times, with shifts that exceeded 15 hours at the wheel and daily rest periods of less than 6 hours.
The vehicle remained immobilized until the amount of the fines is paid and the driver takes the corresponding rest. The investigation remains open under the supervision of the Mossos d"Esquadra.
