Salt will begin on Monday, May 25, the works for a new two-way cycle lane on Marquès de Camps promenade, between Santiago Rusiñol street and Major street. The action is part of a first phase that also includes new cycle paths on Doctor Castany street and President Francesc Macià street.

The start of the works comes on the same day that the municipal plenary approved the Supramunicipal Mobility Plan, which already includes these actions for the urban area. In the short term, the work will involve a traffic closure on one of the accesses to the promenade until June 28, while the complete project will add 1.7 kilometers of cycle network with an investment of 952,300 euros.

The works will cut off a section of Marquès de Camps promenade until June 28

From Monday, traffic will be closed between the roundabout on Marquès de Camps promenade and Guilleries street in the direction of Major street. The city council will keep the intersection between Folch i Torres and Marquès de Camps promenade open for vehicles heading towards the highway and Pla de Salt street.

In addition, residents with underground garages affected by this phase will be able to use a designated parking space between Pla de Salt street and Folch i Torres. To do so, they must request it in advance.

The three actions have a planned execution period of five months. The municipal calendar foresees that the works will be carried out in a chained manner in the different sections.

In a second assessment, Dalmau added that the municipal government wants a city "friendlier, safer, and prepared for the challenges of future mobility". The financing of the project combines a grant of 500,000 euros from the Fundació dels Ferrocarrils Espanyols, linked to the Ministry of Transport, with contributions from the municipal budget.

The external aid covers 500,000 euros of an action budgeted at 952,300 euros.
