The Vilablareix City Council approved on Monday to initiate the process to declare La Torratxa a Cultural Asset of Local Interest. The decision comes after the consolidation and restoration work carried out on this Roman sepulchral tower with support from the Monuments Service of the Diputació de Girona.
The session also saw an unusual movement in municipal accounts. While the plenary session gave the green light to new regulations on equipment and services, 473,481.17 euros will be allocated to prepay the council's only outstanding loan within a credit modification of 496,361.38 euros.
The plenary session initiated the protection of La Torratxa and approved the drought plan
The declaration of Cultural Asset of Local Interest opens the way to reinforce the protection of one of the municipality's heritage elements. The agreement was adopted following the work carried out on La Torratxa, a monument from Roman times located in Vilablareix.
In the same session, the city council definitively approved the Emergency Plan for Drought Situations. The document sets out measures for different water scarcity scenarios and has a favorable report from the Catalan Water Agency.
Furthermore, the council validated the agreement and the initial approval of the supramunicipal sustainable urban mobility plan for Girona. The text has been developed together with other municipalities in the urban area of Girona.
Vilablareix updated usage regulations and changed fees for several facilities
The plenary session initially approved the regulation governing the use of the Multipurpose Hall. Along with that step, it also modified the fees associated with this facility, the Municipal Nursery La Farigola, and the municipal swimming pool.
On the other hand, the city council updated the regulations for the use of the municipal swimming pool to adapt the rules for access, coexistence, and safety. The agreement maintains the public price from previous years and the conditions set for registered residents over 65 years of age.
In the economic section, the corporation initially approved a credit modification of 496,361.38 euros. Of this amount, 473,481.17 euros will be reserved to prepay the only loan currently held by the Vilablareix City Council.
