A truck overturned this Monday afternoon on the AP-7 at the height of Fogars de la Selva and forced the closure of the three lanes in the northbound direction, towards Girona.
The accident left traffic completely blocked on one of the country's main road arteries, although the driver emerged unharmed, was not trapped, and refused medical assistance.
Traffic registered up to three kilometers of traffic jams on the AP-7
The alert arrived at 15:42, when the truck overturned at kilometer marker 98 of the highway. From that moment on, the Servei Català de Trànsit reported traffic jams of up to three kilometers in the direction of Girona.
In addition to the complete closure of the three lanes, the accident caused a fuel spill that emergency services are managing in the area.
Five Firefighter Units Work with the Mossos d'Esquadra in Fogars
To the scene five units of the Bombers de la Generalitat were dispatched, who work together with the Mossos d'Esquadra to attend to the incident and resolve the consequences of the overturning.
In the cabin there were no trapped people and the driver was unharmed and refused medical assistance, according to data provided by emergency services.
The notice of the accident was received at 15:42 hours at kilometer point 98 of the AP-7, near Fogars de la Selva.
