Lloret de Mar has launched the rescue and lifeguard season on the beaches of Lloret and Fenals with a novelty in the municipal operation, the incorporation of a socio-health assistant on Lloret beach to facilitate adapted bathing for people with reduced mobility or special needs.

The main difference this year is not in the surveillance resources, but in access to the water. While the service starts with about twenty professionals and material reinforcements on the main beaches, the municipality is incorporating a specific figure to assist users who until now found more barriers to bathing with support.

Lloret maintains adapted bathing until October 15

The socio-health assistant service will operate until October 15 on the main beaches of the municipality. In this first phase, the operation is already active in Lloret and Fenals.

Cristina Aymerich, Councilor for Beaches, framed the start of the campaign within an operation that arrives, she said, "with several novelties so that safe bathing can be enjoyed." The councilor focused on the incorporation of the socio-health technician and the new module installed in Sa Boadella.

In addition to support for adapted bathing, the rescue and lifeguard team will have about twenty professionals and will provide service every day between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The operation adds new modules in Fenals and Sa Boadella

The municipal operation will have three surveillance towers, two located on Lloret beach and one on Fenals. To this will be added nine surveillance chairs during the high season, along with a 4x4 vehicle, a jet ski, and a rapid intervention motorcycle.

This year, new rescue and lifeguard modules have also been installed in Sa Boadella cove and Fenals beach. These points are added to the existing ones in Lloret, Canyelles, and Santa Cristina.

On the other coves in the municipality, the season will begin a little later. Canyelles, Sa Boadella, and Santa Cristina will activate the service on June 1 and will maintain it until September 30.

The distribution of the operation leaves the two main urban beaches operational from the start of the campaign and later extends coverage to the rest of the coves. The general service hours will be from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with about twenty professionals and three surveillance towers distributed between Lloret and Fenals.

Aymerich highlighted expressly that the new Sa Boadella module is part of this season's novelties, along with the socio-health technician incorporated on Lloret beach.
