The Girona City Council received Girona Judo to recognize their podium finishes in Catalonia, Spain, and the European Cup in Berlin, with a notable season in the U-18 and U-21 categories.

The Girona City Council received the athletes and officials of the Associació Girona Judo in the Plenary Hall to recognize the results achieved by the club during the 2025-2026 season.

The municipal reception brought together a broad representation of the team after a season in which the entity won medals in the Catalan championships, the Spanish championships, and the European Cup Berlin, with a notable presence in the U-18 female and U-21 male categories.

The event was attended by the mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas i Vilar, and the councilor for Sports and Youth, Àdam Bertran i Martínez, who received the judokas and the entity's representatives at the council headquarters.

Accompanying the institutional delegation were the club's president, Antonio Benítez, the technical sports director and coach Sergi Salas, and the coach Eduard Xargay. The reception served to highlight a season with results in regional, national, and international competitions.

In the female category were the Catalan champions Anastasia Kokoev and Julieta Mia Lapitz, as well as Catalina Jager, Edna Parra, Isona Cargol, Jana Lopez, Jana Perich, Laia Suarez, Laura Domènech, and Mailen Cesio.

Batraz Kokoev led a male delegation with national champions and runners-up

The male representation was led by Batraz Kokoev, champion of Spain and Catalonia. Also participating were Max Sances and Jan Blanco, runners-up in Spain and champions of Catalonia, as well as Neo Cao, champion of Catalonia.

The club's expedition in this category was completed by Ababacar Toure, David Tejedor, Jesus Fidalgo, Juan Garcia, Marc Cabero, Marc Soler, and Sergi Gonzalez.

The reception at the Girona City Council also brought together the athletes who competed in the U-18 female and U-21 male categories, the two age groups in which the entity achieved some of its most outstanding results during the 2025-2026 season.

Among those present were president Antonio Benítez, technical sports director and coach Sergi Salas, and coach Eduard Xargay, along with Batraz Kokoev, Max Sances, Jan Blanco, and Catalan champions Anastasia Kokoev and Julieta Mia Lapitz.
