A head-on collision between two vans has forced the closure this Thursday of the Girona bypass at kilometer 719, on the stretch connecting Fornells de la Selva with Girona. The accident occurred around 2:45 PM and has generated traffic jams on the N-II.
The collision keeps the road closed at one of the usual access points to the city and, at the same time, has required an emergency intervention to attend to at least one injured person who was trapped inside one of the vehicles. The severity of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.

Mossos d'Esquadra de Trànsit, SEM, and Bombers de la Generalitat personnel have been dispatched to the accident site. Emergency teams have been working on the ground since early afternoon.
At least one person was traveling in one of the vehicles and was trapped after the impact. At this time, firefighters are focusing part of their efforts on rescue operations to extract them from inside the van and facilitate medical attention.

While the intervention continues, the Servei Català de Trànsit maintains the alert for road disruptions in the area. The incident is concentrated on the Girona bypass, on the stretch between Fornells de la Selva and the capital of Girona.
In addition to the road closure, the collision has caused queues on the N-II, one of the roads that absorbs part of the traffic when incidents occur on this access. Traffic management is in the hands of the Mossos d'Esquadra de Trànsit.
The latest data confirmed by the Servei Català de Trànsit places the road closure at kilometer 719 and maintains the traffic jams on the N-II following the crash recorded at 2:45 PM.
