The territorial commission of l'Horta approved yesterday the constitution of a specific working group for the monitoring and control of large infrastructure works affecting the area. This institutional decision establishes a formal surveillance mechanism over ongoing projects.
Four parties promote political monitoring
The new supervisory body will have a mixed structure of a political and technical nature. The municipal groups of PP, ERC, Junts per Catalunya, and En Comú Podem will jointly promote this initiative. The transversal collaboration seeks to guarantee rigorous oversight of urban planning and energy actions.

The functions assigned to the team include the systematic reception of periodic information on all works in progress. The members will also carry out detailed monitoring of inspections carried out and administrative files opened for non-compliance. In addition, the group will have full access to knowledge of the measures adopted to guarantee road safety during the works.
Neighbors demand solutions for the plater
The creation of this control instrument responds directly to the historical demands of the Horta Sud neighborhood association. The neighborhood entity has repeatedly denounced the incidents recorded during the execution of various energy infrastructure works. Among the most notable cases is the electrical evacuation line associated with the Alcarràs photovoltaic plant.
Francesc Montardit, neighborhood president of the commission, explained the scope of the claims presented to the local administration. The neighborhood representative stressed the need to address structural problems that affect the quality of life of the residents.

Montardit positively valued the attitude shown by the institutional representatives during the previous meetings. The neighborhood leader indicated that the councilors demonstrated good will towards the requests presented by the citizen platform. This initial disposition now facilitates the implementation of the agreed-upon monitoring mechanism.
