The Municipal Employment Service of the Girona City Council has opened registrations for free training aimed at small businesses and local businesses that want to strengthen their digital presence. The workshop will be held in person on Mondays, May 18 and 25, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, at the SMO facilities.
The initiative seeks to bring digital tools closer to activities that continue to depend on direct contact with customers, from shops and bars to trades and professional services. The council sees this as one of the challenges for maintaining the competitiveness of local commerce in the face of economic and technological changes.
The SMO will hold two sessions for businesses, restaurants, and services
The training is aimed at shops, catering establishments, services, trades, health and wellness professionals, as well as businesses linked to tourism and culture.
Places can be requested now at no cost through the municipal service calendar. The course will be developed in person and will concentrate the content in two sessions of two and a half hours each.
Raquel Robert, councilwoman for Labor, framed the proposal within the line of municipal support for local commerce. The councilwoman pointed out that the city council wants to accompany small businesses in their digital transformation processes.
"From the town hall, we reaffirm our commitment to the local business fabric, promoting initiatives that support small businesses in their digital transformation processes" - Raquel Robert, Councilor for Labor, Girona City Council
Txell Rabionet will teach social networks, Google Maps, and content plans
The consulting firm Txell Rabionet will be in charge of giving the sessions. The program will address the use of social networks and Google Maps, the choice of digital channels according to the sector, and the definition of a content plan.
It will also work on the connection between physical and digital actions, with the idea that each business can transfer part of its daily activity and its relationship with customers to the internet.
In Raquel Robert's words, the objective is to make practical resources and useful tools available to merchants that help strengthen their activity, improve their competitiveness, and facilitate adaptation to new economic and technological challenges.
The workshop will take place on Mondays, May 18 and 25, between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM at the facilities of the Municipal Employment Service of Girona.
