A driver with a judicial requirement for re-entry to a penitentiary center was arrested on the afternoon of February 23 in Lloret de Mar after a pursuit initiated at a joint police checkpoint on the C-63 road.
Flight at high speed after disobeying a control
The operation, coordinated by the Local Police of Vidreres, the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Local Police of Lloret de Mar, had as its objective traffic surveillance in the area. During the operation, a car disobeyed the agents' instructions to stop and began a high-speed escape.
During the course of the pursuit, the driver performed reckless maneuvers and overtakes in areas of poor visibility, endangering road safety. The pursuit continued until a dead-end street in the municipality of Lloret de Mar, where the vehicle was finally immobilized.
Detention after trying to escape on foot
The driver abandoned the car and tried to flee on foot, but was intercepted and detained by the officers deployed in the area. Once identified, it was verified that he had an active judicial requirement for re-entry to a penitentiary center.
The arrested person was transferred to police facilities and placed at judicial disposal after the instruction of the corresponding diligences.
