This year's Girona Fairs will be held from October 23 to November 1, according to the festival's official Instagram account. The edition will last ten days and will once again concentrate a good part of the activity in different parts of the city.
The official start will arrive on October 23 with the traditional proclamation from the City Hall balcony, one of the most symbolic acts of the Gerundense festive calendar. The council is already working on the organization of this year's edition.
November 1 will concentrate some of the most massive acts
The closing day, November 1, will again emerge as one of those with the highest public attendance, especially in the Barri Vell. That day several fairs are usually held spread throughout this area of the city, among them the Drawing and Painting fair and the Artisans, Antiques Dealers and Brocanters fair.
To that programming will be added in the morning the Trobada de Gegants i Bestiari de Girona, which is usually held on the last day of events in the Migdia park. It will also coincide with the family concert on the esplanade of La Copa, on a day that will bring together activities in different settings of Girona.
The City Council activates the planning of the sale spaces
In parallel with the preparation of the festive program, the City Council has published the regulatory bases to award the authorizations for the sales stalls during the Artisan Food Market Fair of Plaça Independència. It is one of the commercial spaces linked to the Fairs.
The approved bases for this year also contemplate the possibility of an annual extension until 2029, with the objective of giving continuity to this market format within the festive event.
The closing of the Fires will arrive on November 1 with the fireworks castle, which will put the final point to ten days of activity in Girona.
