A fire in an apartment on Santa Eugènia street in Girona forced emergency services to mobilize this midday and left three people treated for smoke inhalation. The fire broke out around half past one in the kitchen of the dwelling.
The sanitary scope of the event was limited despite the initial evacuation of the building. The SEM treated three affected individuals at the scene and none of them required hospital transfer.
The Bombers de la Generalitat extinguished the flames and then ventilated the building to eliminate the accumulated smoke. During the intervention, residents evacuated the building as a precautionary measure.
Once risks in the building were ruled out, residents were able to return to their homes. The emergency was concentrated in the apartment where the fire originated, located in the kitchen.
