A 78-year-old man and resident of Sant Feliu de Llobregat died on Monday at the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona after suffering a fall in a rocky area of Punta des Plom, in the surroundings of Sa Tuna, in Begur.
The accident occurred at 8:55 a.m. and emergency teams managed to stabilize him at the scene despite finding him unconscious and in respiratory arrest. The severity of his injuries necessitated a double helicopter transfer to the Girona hospital center, where he passed away that same Monday.

The alert was received via the 112 telephone number early in the morning. Elements from the Bombers de la Generalitat, the Local Police of Begur, and the SEM (Medical Emergency System) were dispatched to the area.
Upon reaching the accident site, emergency services located the unconscious man. There, they performed resuscitation maneuvers until they managed to stabilize him before his evacuation.
The injured man was evacuated by GRAE and transferred critically to Trueta
After initial treatment, the operation evacuated the victim by the GRAE helicopter from the rocky area of Sa Tuna. The SEM then took over the transfer by medicalized helicopter to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona.
The man was admitted in critical condition but did not survive the injuries caused by the fall. The victim was a 78-year-old resident of Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
