The Diari de Girona organizes a conference on May 20 to analyze the connection between talent and companies. The meeting will be held at Hotel Ultònia in Girona with free admission upon prior registration.

The meeting will bring together representatives from public administration, the business sector, the trade union sphere, and experts in technology applied to employment. The central debate will revolve around the existing disconnect between hard-to-fill vacancies and people seeking employment or needing career reorientation.

Artificial intelligence streamlines hiring processes

The main objective of the session is to address in a practical way how artificial intelligence can improve the match between candidates and job positions. The speakers will also examine the capacity of these tools to anticipate training needs and streamline selection processes.

Technology will not be exempt from criticism during the debate. The session will analyze how to ensure that digitalization does not generate new inequalities and protects workers' rights. Maintaining the social dimension in employment policies will be another of the meeting's guiding principles.

"We will analyze how technology can improve the match between candidates and positions without generating inequalities" - Oriol Puig, deputy director of Diari de Girona

Oriol Puig, deputy director of Diari de Girona, will moderate the debate. His job will be to guide the interventions of the four invited experts to extract useful conclusions for the local productive fabric.

Four expert voices debate on the future of employment

The round table will feature the participation of Maxi Rica Munté, general secretary of the UGT of the Girones Counties. From the institutional sphere, Francesc Castellana, director of the Public Employment Service of Catalonia, will participate.

The private sector will be represented by Eduard Vadillo, director of the People and Institutional area at Transgourmet Ibérica. Ricard Martínez, Workforce and Talent Mobility Advisor for Spain and Italy at WCC Group, will complete the presentation.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM. Attendance at the event is free, but prior registration is mandatory to guarantee capacity in the facilities of the Girona hotel.
