The Consell Comarcal de la Garrotxa will assume the management of several public road transport services on behalf of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The regional council approved unanimously the agreement sent by the Departament de Territori, Habitatge i Transició Energètica, with funding of up to 238,772.90 euros to cover the service expenses.
The main unknown comes after the agreement. The regional entity already has the mandate to organize connections between Olot and other points in the region, but the schedule, frequencies, stops, and exact operation of on-demand transport in small communities still need to be finalized.
The Consell will assume lines between Olot, Batet, Oix, and Riudaura
The agreement includes the Olot-Batet, Olot-Oix, and Olot-Riudaura lines. It also foresees reinforcing the connection between Olot, Santa Pau, and Mieres, in addition to the service to the industrial estates of Begudà and Politger with an extension to Montagut and Tortellà.
Along with these routes, the agreement incorporates on-demand transport for several low-population communities. The text arrived at the Consell on April 16 and the regional councilor Jordi Güell proposed its acceptance to the plenary.
The vote went ahead with no votes against. The operational scope of the new mobility scheme, however, will depend on how the schedules, departures, and stopping points in municipalities and industrial areas of La Garrotxa are subsequently set.
VAT exemption reduces school transport costs by 50,092.62 euros
In the same session, the plenary approved the extension of school transport. The renewal incorporates the effect of the VAT exemption applied since this April, so that the projected expenditure will decrease by 50,092.62 euros.
In addition, the Consell gave the green light to the extensions of school canteen and summer camp services. The three agreements were also approved unanimously in the regional session.
The new job classification will come into effect in June
The plenary also unanimously approved the Relació i Valoració de Llocs de Treball. The document will serve to organize the positions and remuneration of the staff of the Consell Comarcal de la Garrotxa and the consortia attached to it.
Its application will begin in June, when the new internal classification structure for the staff of the regional body and its linked entities comes into force.
