The Diada de la Gent Gran of Girona will be held on June 16 at the Municipal Theater with a program focused on cultural activities and the participation of different spaces in the city linked to the elderly.

The event will not be limited to the institutional act or the poster of a single edition. The City Council has linked the preparation of 2026 to a shared work between the Municipal Council of the Elderly and the children's and adolescent councils, with the aim of incorporating an intergenerational dimension to the event.

The 2026 poster will be signed by a student from Escola Eiximenis

The official poster for the 2026 edition has been designed by Noelia Ruiz Chacón, a student at Escola Eiximenis. The Municipal Council of the Elderly chose her proposal from the works submitted by students from various educational centers in Girona.

This process connects the next edition with the involvement of the educational community and the participation of municipal bodies of different ages. The selection of the poster is part of a line of collaboration between the Municipal Council of the Elderly, the Municipal Council of Children, and the Municipal Council of Adolescents.

Gemma Martínez Villagrasa, councilor for Ciutat que Cuida i de Serveis Ambientals i Benestar Animal of the Girona City Council, placed the project within this shared approach.

"This initiative goes beyond the creation of a commemorative poster. This is a commitment that we are making from the City Council to promote intergenerational projects and activities between the Municipal Council of the Elderly, the Municipal Council of Children, and the Municipal Council of Adolescents of the city, promoting spaces for relationship, exchange, and mutual learning between generations. These types of experiences contribute to building a more participatory, inclusive, and cohesive city, where children, young people, and the elderly can share perspectives, experiences, and values" - Gemma Martínez Villagrasa, councilor for Ciutat que Cuida i de Serveis Ambientals i Benestar Animal, Ajuntament de Girona

The event will include two plays and the premiere of a video about neighborhood centers

The Diada program will include two theatrical performances. On the one hand, the Espai Caixa group will stage Que no ens jubilin de viure will be part of the program and, on the other hand, the Taialà group will perform Jo no volia matar-lo.

Furthermore, the ERAM entity has participated in the production of the promotional video Una mirada compartida, més vius que mai. The piece will premiere during the event and will later circulate on social networks and municipal channels to give visibility to the activities of associations and senior centers in the neighborhoods of Girona.

After its premiere at the Municipal Theater, the video Una mirada compartida, més vius que mai will be disseminated through social networks and municipal channels to show the activity of associations and senior centers in the city's neighborhoods.
