The terrace of El Corte Inglés in Girona hosted this Saturday the second edition of the EMpodera't Festival, a day organized together with the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to raise awareness about the disease, coinciding with its World Day.

The event was born as a final degree project promoted by Anna Huguet, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and in just one year it has established itself as an annual event in the city. The organization expected to bring together about 200 people during a day designed to share experiences and reinforce mutual support.

The festival brought together solidarity activities in Girona throughout the day

Montse Prats, director of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation center in Girona, placed the attendance forecast at around 200 people. The program was spread throughout the day on the terrace of the shopping center, with leisure and educational proposals linked to raising awareness about multiple sclerosis.

Among the activities were the game Quina Quina!, a vermouth tasting with Vidart and Josep Pintó, a ceramic painting workshop with Pètals d'Art, the afternoon welcome by Enric Riera, and a magic show with Dion Màgic.

The program also included the presentation and tasting of the Solidarity Xuixo made with passion fruit cream and apricot cubes. Julià Castelló and Lolita Pedrol participated in this proposal, with the latter sharing her testimony during the event.

The Mulla't campaign aims to sell 100 more towels before June 27

In addition to the educational aspect, the day was linked to the Mulla't campaign through the sale of solidarity towels for 19.90 euros. The proceeds are entirely destined for projects and services for people with multiple sclerosis.

Since April 1, the organization has sold about 300 towels and maintains the goal of selling a hundred more before the campaign closes, set for June 27.

Already in the final stretch of the festival, Anna Huguet shared her personal testimony and participated in the closing with Liquid Sounds. The event's closing was scheduled after her intervention and musical performance, with the focus on raising awareness about the disease through direct experience.

Huguet promoted the first edition as part of her Final Degree Project with the foundation, and the positive reception of that proposal led the entity to make EMpodera't an annual event in Girona.
