Two passenger cars have collided head-on this Saturday afternoon in Garriguella and the accident has forced to cut the C 252 for an hour. The accident has occurred around 2:45 p.m. at kilometer 53.6 of this road.
The alert to 112 did not arrive via a conventional call, but automatically through the smart device of one of the vehicles involved. From that alert, the emergency operation was activated.
An injured person was trapped inside the car
To the point of the accident, members of the Bombers, the SEM, and the Mossos d'Esquadra were dispatched. One of the occupants was trapped in one of the cars and had to be extricated by the Bombers.
Once freed, the man was attended by the SEM and evacuated by ambulance with a mild prognosis. A second person also suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Transfer to the hospital and road impact
The two injured were transferred by ambulance to the hospital to receive medical assistance. The Mossos d'Esquadra took charge of the proceedings derived from the accident on this stretch of the road network of the Alt Empordà.
The impact on traffic lasted for an hour, the time during which the road remained closed to facilitate attention to the injured, the extrication and the removal of the vehicles involved.
