The National Police, the Local Police of Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the Seprona of the Civil Guard inspected a vacant lot in the upper area of the municipality where several families, some with minors, lived in constructions without permits qualified as shacks. During the operation, the agents checked the condition of the structures and drew up several reports for various infractions.
The operation focuses on irregular occupation, unsanitary conditions, and security in a region where police pressure has intensified in a few weeks. In less than a month, the forces deployed four joint operations in Baix Empordà, with actions that have also reached Palafrugell.
A police drone confirmed the deterioration of the shacks in Sant Feliu de Guíxols
To check the condition of the improvised constructions, the agents used a police drone over the vacant lot. The inspection affected a settlement where several families resided and where there were also minors.
In addition to the unauthorized buildings, the police detected animals on the plot. There were chickens, goats, peacocks, and Florida turtles, a presence that led to reports for infractions related to pets and livestock farms.
The operation also included the drawing up of reports for possession of narcotics in the same inspected area. The operation is part of the joint operations that the forces are deploying in the region to address problems of coexistence, unsanitary conditions, and irregular occupations.
Palafrugell was the scene of another operation with 4.5 kilos of drugs and a detainee in prison
In parallel, the National Police and the Local Police of Palafrugell dismantled a drug dealing point in the municipality. In that intervention, the agents seized 4.5 kilograms of hashish, cocaine, and marijuana, in an operation linked to the same police reinforcement in Baix Empordà.
The deployment in the region also led to the arrest of a man riding an electric scooter with 98 doses of cocaine prepared for sale. The drug amounted to 70 grams, and the detainee also carried 350 euros.
According to the data from the operation, the man was in Spain irregularly. In the case of the drug dealing point dismantled in Palafrugell, the detainee was sent to prison after the police intervention.
The four joint operations deployed in less than a month in Baix Empordà include that dismantling in Palafrugell, the arrest of the man carrying 98 doses of cocaine on an electric scooter, and the inspection of the settlement in Sant Feliu de Guíxols with the support of a police drone.
