A 32-year-old worker was injured this Friday in a work accident in Olot after falling from about eight meters at the Garrotxa composting plant, located on the carretera de les Feixes.
The fall did not end inside the facility, but onto the roof of the equipment, which was also damaged and forced the Bombers de la Generalitat to combine the rescue of the operator with subsequent roof repair work.
Municipal Police of Olot, Mossos d'Esquadra, SEM, and Bombers de la Generalitat forces intervened in the emergency.
Bombers rescued the injured man with a ladder truck after the fall from eight meters
Emergency teams reached the worker after he ended up on the roof of the plant. To get him off the roof, the Bombers de la Generalitat used a ladder truck.
After the rescue, medical personnel immobilized the injured man at the scene before his transfer. SEM then evacuated him to the Trueta hospital in Girona.

In addition to attending to the worker, the Bombers worked on the structure affected by the fall. The corps carried out repair work on the roof of the facility located on the carretera de les Feixes.
The health condition of the 32-year-old worker transferred to the Trueta hospital in Girona has not yet been disclosed.
