Girona will dedicate its own tributes to Antoni Gaudí and Pau Casals in the next edition of Temps de Flors, which this year will decorate 113 spaces and expand the itinerary to new points in the city such as Pont Major, the church of Palau-sacosta and Francesc Rogés street, in the Güell Devesa neighborhood.
The floral exhibition, which in its previous edition brought together nearly 400,000 visitors, will once again display installations in different enclaves of the municipality with one of the main novelties focused on the Onyar River. For the first time in four decades, the four most central bridges that cross it will be decorated simultaneously: the Gómez bridge, the Peixateries Velles bridge, the Sant Agustí bridge, and the Sant Feliu bridge.

The intervention in these steps will force the redistribution of pedestrian flows during the exhibition. In the case of the les Peixateries Velles bridge, passage will be organized in a single direction, from the Rambla towards Santa Clara.
The incorporation of these four bridges into the central route is added to the opening of new spaces in neighborhoods and areas that until now were not part of the usual itinerary. The deputy mayor Gemma Geis has precisely highlighted the entry of Pont Major, the church of Palau-sacosta and Francesc Rogés street as part of this expansion.
Double tribute to Gaudí in the Gaudí Year
Coinciding with the Gaudí Year, in which the death of the architect of the Sagrada Família is commemorated, Temps de Flors is preparing a double tribute project. One of them will be located on the steps of the Girona Cathedral, although the organization has not wanted to reveal its content.
Regarding this installation, the organizers only advance that it will be a space "Gaudí with a very Girona touch". The exhibition will also incorporate a reference to the architect in the basilica of Sant Fèlix.
Pau Casals will be present in two spaces in the city
This year's edition will also remember Pau Casals on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth. The tribute will take the form of two floral projects, one in the Jardins de la Pau, in the Emili Grahit area, and another in Plaça Natàlia Molero, in the Devesa neighborhood.
With these proposals, the organization reinforces the weight of cultural commemorations within the itinerary of an exhibition that maintains its vocation of extending through different neighborhoods and facilities in Girona.
Extended hours and recognition for volunteers
The floral spaces can be visited until 11 p.m. during most of the programming. On Saturdays, the schedule will be extended until midnight.
The opening day will also serve to pay tribute to the volunteers of Amics de les Flors, whom the organization considers a key piece in the trajectory of the exhibition. The event will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 11:30 a.m. in the Jardins dels Alemanys.

Temps de Flors thus faces a new edition with more spaces, new neighborhoods incorporated, and an expectation of a large turnout after last year's nearly 400,000 visitors, in an event that will once again transform some of the most recognizable enclaves in the center and other points of Girona for several days.
