The Economic Promotion area of the Banyoles City Council will launch the project "Donem vida al comerç de barri" in May, a personalized support service for establishments with which it seeks to reactivate the socioeconomic activity in the neighborhoods of the municipality.

The initiative comes with a double line of action. On the one hand, the council wants to provide direct advice to businesses that do not usually participate in the city's commercial or associative dynamization programs. On the other hand, from May 25, it will activate a new training cycle of Banyoles Emprèn+ focused on technology, cybersecurity, and digital channels for small businesses.

The council allocates 40,407.12 euros to direct support for neighborhood businesses

The project is part of the "Treball als Barris" program and has a subsidy from the Employment Service of Catalonia, SOC, of 40,407.12 euros to finance the service. The support is aimed at establishments that want to grow, need to hire staff, have doubts about commercial regulations, or seek to advance in digitalization processes.

Anna Tarafa, councilor for Economic Promotion, focused on businesses that usually fall outside the usual dynamization actions.

"With this initiative, we want to promote the participation of the commercial fabric of certain sectors of the population that, in general, do not usually participate in the city's commercial or associative dynamization programs" - Anna Tarafa, councilor for Economic Promotion, Banyoles City Council

In addition to individualized reinforcement, the municipal area plans proximity work to explain to merchants what resources they already have available from the council and from "Treball als Barris".

In a second assessment, Tarafa added that the program aims to make the support, institutional backing, and available services for neighborhood establishments known in a more personal way.

The five modules of Banyoles Emprèn+ start on May 25 with an AI workshop

The second part of the municipal plan will come through Banyoles Emprèn+, also with SOC support. The new cycle of free training will begin on May 25 with the session "IA de supervivència per a petits negocis", taught by SH Solucions between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM.

A week later, on June 1, the same company will offer Protect your business: cybersecurity for everyday life, again from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The program will continue on June 8 with a workshop by Brava Marketing on how to simplify communication with clients through WhatsApp Business, scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The cycle also includes a fourth training session led by the Local Economic Promotion and Development Service of the Diputación de Girona, focused on the Comerç a casa platform to improve business visibility.

The last session will be dedicated to aid for commerce from the Generalitat de Catalunya 2026 and, for now, the Banyoles City Council has not specified the date on which it will be held.
