Around 1,200 teachers and protesters have lifted the highway blockade in Salt that began on Wednesday morning, as part of a day of mobilization to pressure negotiations between unions and the Departament d'Educació.
The action was planned until 3:00 PM, but the key event of the protest came earlier, when that thousand-plus people accessed the shoulder of the road at 11:10 AM after the demonstration called by the unions at 9:00 AM.

The mobilization in Salt was led by the Coordinadora d'Assemblees Educatives in the Girona region. The highway blockade started after the morning union march and moved the protest from the center of the call to the fast lane.
The objective of the action was to maintain pressure for several hours. The organizers had planned to extend it until 3:00 PM to influence the ongoing negotiation between unions and the Departament d'Educació.
The coordinator calls for another mobilization between May 31 and June 1
Wednesday's protest does not close the calendar of actions. The Coordinadora d'Assemblees Educatives in the Girona region has already called for a new teacher mobilization between Sunday, May 31, and Monday, June 1.
Salt thus once again concentrated one of the central images of the day, with around 1,200 people on the highway shoulder in an action designed to increase pressure on the negotiation table.
The next meeting scheduled by the coordinator will take place between Sunday, May 31, and Monday, June 1.
