Barcelona, Baix Llobregat and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat face this afternoon a forecast of locally intense showers and storms, with accumulations that may exceed 20 mm in just 30 minutes. The episode will reach the coastline in the mid-afternoon and evening.
The forecast concentrates the highest risk in the metropolitan area during the central hours of the worsening, but the front will not be confined to those points. The rains will end up extending to practically the entire territory this Tuesday, with warnings activated by Meteocat and the possibility of hail.
The Meteocat maintains warnings for storms with hail in the Barcelona area
The Meteorological Service of Catalonia maintains alerts active for intense rainfall in Barcelona, Baix Llobregat, and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The forecast points to showers and thunderstorms of locally strong intensity during the afternoon.
In addition to rain, Meteocat includes the possibility of hail in this episode. The combination of intense storm in a short time and arrival at the coast at the end of the afternoon concentrates attention on a very populated strip of the metropolitan area.
The rain will reach the coast in the afternoon and will extend this Tuesday to almost all of Catalonia
In the mid-afternoon and at dusk, precipitation will reach the coastline. From there, the episode will move until it affects practically the entire territory during this Tuesday.
In parallel, the wind will also mark the day in other points of the Catalan map. Tramuntana will be registered in the north of Cape Creus at first hour.
Already during the night and in the early morning from Tuesday to Wednesday, mistral will enter the Terres de l'Ebre, another of the points where the forecast adds weather changes beyond the storms predicted in the Barcelona area.
