Civil Protection maintains the Inuncat plan alert throughout Catalonia despite the main episode of rain accumulation having ended. The situation remains especially delicate in several points of Girona and Barcelona, where river flows are monitored and road closures are maintained due to landslides and floods.

Rivers in danger level and follow-up of dam releases

The danger level continues in the Muga river, at the height of Boadella d"Empordà, and in the Ter river, at the Sant Joan de les Abadesses station. In addition, significant flows have been registered in other rivers of the internal basins, such as the Fluvià, the Tordera, the Daró and the Gaià. The accumulation of rain extends until this Saturday and there are already six river sections at danger level, with special attention to the rise of the Ges and Ter rivers.

Civil Protection informs that the evolution of the reservoir releases in the Ter system is being monitored, especially in the Susqueda reservoir. These releases may temporarily increase the downstream flow.

Roads closed and disruptions on mobility

Trànsit keeps the N-260 closed between Ripoll and Sant Joan de les Abadesses due to landslides, an incident that yesterday caused a seriously injured driver. Detours have been enabled via the N-260a and the GI-521 to facilitate circulation in the area.

In the Girona demarcation, three local roads remain cut off by floods. In the Barcelona demarcation, a local road in the Montseny area is also closed due to landslides.

Incidents and emergency calls

The 112 phone has received until this Saturday morning 503 calls that have generated 344 incidents. The most affected regions have been Barcelonès, with 57 incidents, Vallès Occidental with 63, Vallès Oriental with 57 and Osona with 38.

Weather forecast and emergency situation

El Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya warns that isolated showers may still occur during the afternoon, especially in the southern counties of the country. Vigilance remains active throughout the entire river network and in the affected infrastructures.

The search for the missing driver in Llinars del Vallès continues, while emergency teams remain deployed in the area.
