A 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Mossos d"Esquadra after being identified as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force in the lobby of some apartments located in Lloret de Mar. The arrest occurred on February 19 in the neighboring town of Blanes, where he was located after several weeks of investigation.

The robbery in an old luxury hotel

The community of neighbors of the building, which had previously functioned as a luxury hotel, reported the theft on February 4. According to police investigations, the robbery would have occurred during the night of February 2 to 3. The perpetrator accessed the lobby and took various decorative pieces valued at 4,400 euros.

  • A marble and bronze figure (600 euros)
  • A cracked mother-of-pearl table (1,600 euros)
  • A conical mother-of-pearl figure (400 euros)
  • A white porcelain horse (700 euros)
  • Two marble vases (400 euros)
  • Two hand-carved Thai-style wooden figures (400 euros)

The Investigation Unit of the Blanes police station confirmed that there were no forced entries to the property. The investigations suggest that the robbery would have been committed by a single person, making up to three trips to load the objects and transfer them to the trunk of an SUV-type vehicle.

Identification and recovery of the loot

The Mossos d'Esquadra identified the alleged perpetrator thanks to the analysis of the evidence collected at the scene of the events. The man, who has a police record, was located and arrested in Blanes during the morning of February 19.

The loot has been fully recovered and is now again in the possession of the affected community of neighbors. The case continues under investigation to clarify all the details and determine the criminal responsibility of the detainee.
