A multiple accident on the AP 7 at the height of Sarrià de Ter has left seven minor injuries and has caused traffic jams in the Figueres direction early this Tuesday. The accident occurred shortly after 08:00 hours at kilometer 56.2, where a van and four cars collided. One of the cars ended up overturned.
The incident forced the mobilization of five fire brigades, two patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra de Trànsit and four SEM units. Despite the spectacular nature of the crash, no occupant was trapped inside the vehicles.
Seven slightly injured and six transfers by ambulance
The final balance was seven people with minor injuries. One of them was discharged at the same accident site, while six were evacuated by ambulance. The Servei Català de Trànsit confirmed these transfers after the initial attention of the emergency teams.
Traffic jams of two kilometers in direction Figueres
The accident forced the closure of one lane of the highway in the Figueres direction, which generated queues of approximately two kilometers on this stretch of the AP 7, in the vicinity of Sarrià de Ter. The road disruption was concentrated during the period of greatest mobility of the morning.
Circulation was normalized towards 10:00 hours, once the involved vehicles were removed and the action of the emergency services in the area was completed.
