The Local Police of Blanes arrested a man over 40 years old with a criminal record on Monday morning after he attempted to attack two officers with a knife on Ernest Lluch street, behind the CAP de la Plantera. The arrest took place in the area of CAP 2 of Blanes, where the CAS Selva Marítima is also located.
The incident was resolved without any officers being injured, but two days later the same man was once again at the center of another serious incident. On Wednesday, he was seriously injured at the Malgrat de Mar station, where he entered the tracks area as a train was arriving and suffered the amputation of both feet.
The alert came at 7:55 AM and the arrest was completed at 8:14 AM
A passerby alerted at 7:55 AM to the presence of an armed man in the vicinity of the health center. When the officers arrived, the individual was very agitated and was waiting for the center to open at 8:00 AM to receive methadone.
During the intervention, the police drew their service weapons and aimed them at him to contain the threat. They also prepared to use a Taser electric pistol, although the man desisted from his aggressive attitude before it was activated.
The operation ended a few minutes later, when the man was subdued and arrested at 8:14 AM on Ernest Lluch street.
The court released him with charges for attempted homicide
After the arrest, the man was brought before the court for an alleged crime of attempted homicide. The court ordered his release with charges.
The case had a new episode on Wednesday in Malgrat de Mar. There, the same man accessed the tracks area as a train was entering the station.
As a consequence of the railway incident, he suffered the amputation of both feet and was seriously injured.
