The Comissió d"Autoprotecció de Protecció Civil de Catalunya has given the green light to the self-protection plans of the Festival Cap Roig 2026 in Palafrugell and the Empordà Music Festival 2026 in La Bisbal d"Empordà, within a session in which 27 plans have been validated throughout Catalunya.
The approval affects both permanent activities and temporary events. Of the total validated, 20 plans correspond to non-temporary activities and another 7 to temporary activities, among them the two festivals planned in Gerundense regions.
Two plans approved in the regions of Girona
The territorial distribution of the approved plans leaves 2 authorizations in the veguería de Girona. The bulk of files is concentrated in Barcelona, with 18, while the Camp de Tarragona adds 3. The Penedès registers 2, Central Catalonia 1 and the Terres de l"Ebre 1.
Among the plans that have obtained homologation also appear large events and facilities with high influx or activity, such as the concerts of Bad Bunny and El Último de la Fila in Barcelona, the Cocoa nightclub in Mataró, the ALBA Synchrotron in Cerdanyola del Vallès, the TV3 building in Sant Joan Despí, the Fira de Sabadell and the Maremagnum shopping center in Barcelona.
Twenty-three rejected files
At the same meeting, the Commission has left without homologating 23 self-protection plans upon observing technical deficiencies or lack of self-protection means. One of those unvalidated files corresponds to the vegueria of Girona.
Among the temporary activities that have not passed homologation are a music festival, an outdoor fair, and a concert planned in a building. The lack of validation forces the correction of detected deficiencies in order to adjust security and emergency response devices to the criteria required by Protecció Civil.
The resolution places the festivals of Cap Roig and La Bisbal d"Empordà among the events that have indeed passed this prior security procedure, in a context of technical review that has left out almost half of the plans analyzed by the Commission.
