A 31-year-old woman was admitted this Thursday to provisional communication and bail-free prison by order of the magistrate of seat 4 of the instruction section of the Girona court. The judge charges the detainee with a crime of homicide after confessing that she ended the life of her partner in the home they shared in Salt.
The events were triggered last Monday when the accused voluntarily went to the police facilities to report that she had killed her partner. The Mossos d'Esquadra officers immediately went to the home located in the municipality of Girona.
Local police find body with signs of violence
During the search of the dwelling, investigators located the lifeless body of the man with evident signs of violence. The confirmation of death and the initial evidence gathered at the scene allowed the officers to initiate preliminary proceedings against the woman, who had already admitted her authorship to the officials.
The High Court of Justice of Catalonia has made public this Thursday the judicial order that decrees the entry into prison of the investigated person. The case remains open while actions continue to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the death.
The case remains open for homicide
The magistrate's decision implies that the detainee will remain in the penitentiary center awaiting the next phases of the judicial process. The precautionary measure of provisional detention without bail seeks to guarantee the accused's presence at the trial and avoid possible procedural risks.
The case continues under the instruction of the Girona court of instance, which will now assume the collection of expert and testimonial evidence necessary to support the charge of homicide.
