The loan program for youth emancipation promoted by the Government of Catalonia has approved 19.2% of the applications submitted in the vegueria of Girona until January 15, 2026. Since last June, in Girona, 777 funding requests have been registered, of which 149 have been approved and only 58 have been formalized by signature.
Girona, the veguería with the lowest percentage of success
Girona presents the lowest success rate in all of Catalonia in relation to the applications submitted. Terres de l"Ebre leads the ranking with 27% of approved aid, followed by Central Catalonia with 26.5%. Other veguerías such as Lleida, Penedès, Alt Pirineu i Aran, Camp de Tarragona and Barcelona show approval percentages ranging between 24.8% and 21.4%.
Global data and profile of the beneficiaries
In Catalonia as a whole, the program has received 6,485 applications, of which 1,421 have been approved and 496 formalized to date. The average amount of the financed properties stands at 214,909 euros. The average age of the beneficiary individuals is 29.4 years and the average annual salary reaches 23,726 euros.
The financial entities that have formalized the most mortgages within the program are Caixabank iMagin, BBVA, Caixa d"Enginyers, Sabadell, Arquia and Caixa Rural de Guissona.
Conditions and operation of the program
The program has a budget of 500 million euros for five years, with an annual allocation of one hundred million until 2029. The Generalitat calculates that those who access this loan can save up to 50,000 euros in interest during the life of the mortgage.
- Applicants must be registered in Catalunya and be between 18 and 35 years old.
- The property must be the first home they buy and become their habitual residence.
- The gross annual income of all cohabitants cannot exceed the IRSC multiplied by 6.5.
- The loan covers up to 20% of the property's value, with a maximum of 50,000 euros.
- The remaining 80% is provided by the adhering banking entity.
- The financed homes become protected (HPO) permanently.
The Institut Català de Finances analyzes each application and the associated risk before approving the operation, which is conditioned on the granting of a mortgage by an adhering entity. Both operations are signed jointly before a notary at the act of sale.
