A 27-year-old man who had been missing for a week in the area of the Far sanctuary, in the municipality of Susqueda, has been located alive this Monday. The young man himself contacted the 112 emergency number early in the morning, around six o'clock, to report that he was well.
Location in the surroundings of the sanctuary
The Mossos d'Esquadra located the man in the vicinity of the sanctuary, where he had left his vehicle parked. The Medical Emergencies System (SEM) transferred him to Olot hospital for a medical check-up, as he presented symptoms of dehydration.
A week without news and search operation
The young man, a resident of Sallent, had not given signs of life since February 23, the date on which he informed his family that he was heading towards El Far. The family filed a complaint with the Mossos d'Esquadra and on Wednesday afternoon a search operation was activated in the area.
The search, coordinated by the Firefighters from the social center of Sant Martí Sacalm, mobilized the Canine Group, the GRAE, the drone service, up to 16 units from different parks and patrols of the Mossos.
- The device on the ground stopped on February 26 due to lack of evidence, although the police investigation remained open.
