The Fundació Oncolliga Girona assisted 2,469 people with cancer and their families during the last year and closed 2025 with an increase in care activity and budget. The entity carried out 13,082 care visits, incorporated two new psycho-oncologists and expanded several of its services, as stated in the 2025 Social Report presented this Friday in Girona.

Activity also grew in number of users. In 2025, the foundation's professionals attended to 241 more people than the previous year, in a context of greater demand for accompaniment and specialized support.

More visits, more stays and professional reinforcement

One of the clearest increases was registered in the entity's residence. Overnight stays went from 883 in 2024 to 1,098 in 2025, an increase that reflects a greater use of this resource by patients and families.

The loan of support material also increased. Throughout last year, 1,377 articles for rest, hygiene, and mobility were provided, including articulated beds and wheelchairs, within the services aimed at improving home care and the daily lives of patients.

The foundation also reinforced its professional structure with the incorporation of two new psycho-oncologists. During 2025, it launched the Oncotraining workshop, focused on strength exercises, with the aim of expanding the offer of physical and therapeutic support.

Profile of the people served

Of the total number of people attended, 69.6% were women and 30.4% men. By typology, breast cancer was the most prevalent, with 30.7% of cases, followed by lung cancer with 7.8%, gynecological with 6.3% and colon with 5.8%.

The entity also maintained its line of prevention and awareness in the educational field. The program No et fumis la salut carried out 140 talks and reached more than 3,614 students of first year of ESO.

A rising budget

The Fundació Oncolliga Girona managed a budget of 2,571,689 euros in 2025, which represents an increase of 14.8% compared to the previous year. Of that amount, 78% was allocated to the social mission of the entity, while 22% corresponded to structural and administrative expenses.

The presentation of the report was made this Friday during the foundation's 24th charity dinner, held at the Palau de Fires de Girona, with the attendance of more than 600 people. The event served to present the evolution of the entity's activity in a year marked by the increase in users and the expansion of care resources.
