The regions of Girona face an episode of high temperatures for the season with the peak expected between Wednesday and Friday and with more intensity inland than on the coast. The most notable day will be Thursday, April 9, when thermometers will be clearly above the usual values for the beginning of a month.
Girona city will graze 27 ºC in the central hours
In Girona city, Meteocat's forecast places the maximum at 25 ºC on Wednesday, 27 ºC on Thursday and 24 ºC on Friday. For Thursday, April 9, the hourly forecast points to 26 ºC at 13:00 and 14:00, while at 15:00, 27 ºC will be reached.
The most pronounced behavior is expected in the inland regions. Olot will reach 28 ºC both on Thursday and Friday, while Ripoll will move around 26 ºC in that same stretch. In contrast, the coast and the pre-coastal area will remain somewhat more contained, with Figueres between 23 and 25 ºC, la Bisbal d"Empordà between 21 and 22 ºC and Blanes also between 21 and 22 ºC. In Cerdanya, Puigcerdà will remain around 19 and 20 ºC.
The reference remains the exceptional episode of 2011
The episode arrives with the precedent of April 7 to 10, 2011, which continues as a climatic reference for these dates in the Girona regions. That episode left very high records for an beginning of April.

If any station exceeds 31 ºC, it would already enter the territory of the maximum in Girona for an early April since 2011. For now, the forecast for this week remains below that threshold, although it consolidates a clearly warm central stretch for the season.
Drop Ahead of the Weekend
The change will arrive starting Saturday. In Girona city, Meteocat forecasts a maximum of 22 ºC on Saturday the 11th and 19 ºC on Sunday the 12th. The shift in weather will be accompanied by more clouds and a thermal drop compared to the central days of the week, thus closing a brief episode but marked by anomalously high values in a good part of the interior of the demarcation.
